What is the Passport Photo Resizer?

This tool crops and resizes a photo to the exact pixel dimensions required for a passport, visa, or standard ID photo. Choose your country or document type, position the crop box over your face, and download a photo sized correctly for printing or online submission.

Everything happens locally in your browser using the Canvas API. Your photo is never uploaded to a server, which matters for a photo of your own face.

How to use it

1. Drop your photo onto the upload area, or click it to browse your device.
2. Choose the photo type you need from the dropdown, each option locks the crop box to the correct aspect ratio.
3. Drag the crop box to center your face, and drag the corner handles to resize it.
4. Click Crop & download photo to get your correctly sized image.

These dimensions are calculated at 300 DPI (dots per inch), the standard resolution for sharp, print-quality photos. If you're submitting your photo online rather than printing it, most services will still accept these pixel dimensions directly.

Tips for a compliant passport photo

• Use a plain, light-colored background if possible, many official requirements specify a white or off-white background
• Face the camera directly with a neutral expression, most official guidelines require this
• Make sure your face is well-lit and clearly visible, without shadows or glare
• Center your face within the crop box, leaving appropriate space above your head and below your chin
